Art Classes
We are proud of our outstanding Art program at Sing & Play Fine Arts Studio. Please read the following information before enrolling in an art class. We ask that you consider enrollment a commitment for the entire semester. A student can only be considered enrolled after the registration form is completed, signed, and returned with the registration fee.
Description of Classes: Classes consist of 6 to 12 students. Class schedules change every semester, and include such choices as Drawing and Design, Painting, Pottery and Sculpture, Jewelry Making, Cartooning, and Multi-Media (See class schedule for detailed descriptions of each class.) Our art classes emphasize process rather than product. In other words, the importance is placed on the process of learning the principles of art and design. Classes generally last for one hour. Please not the times for the classes you choose.
Missed classes: Regular attendance each week is very important, since many of our art projects are ongoing and will not be completed if a student is not consistent with class attendance. There are no refunds or make-ups for missed classes, unless the instructor must cancel a class. Any class missed due to instructor cancellation will be made up during the semester. Events such as hurricanes, floods, and snowstorms are considered “acts of God” and cannot be made up.
Schedule: Sixteen classes are scheduled each semester, with the exception of the adult classes, which are usually offered in 4-6 week sessions. The studio generally follows the Pearland public school calendar with no classes during the Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, and Easter holidays. Specialty camps are offered during the summer.
Tuition and fees:
~ A registration fee of $40.00 is due upon enrollment each semester. This fee covers the cost of supplies and equipment used in class.
~ Tuition is $164.00 per semester and must be paid in full by the first class of each semester.
There are four options for paying tuition at the beginning of the semester (the $40 registration fee is not included in tuition):
1) Cash for the full amount (please be sure to get a receipt from the studio)
2) A check for the full amount
3) Four postdated checks of $41.00 at the beginning of the semester. dated Feb. 1, Mar. 1, Apr. 1 and May 1.
4) Credit card payment for the full amount
Returned checks will have a $25.00 fee added.
